Expecting further internationalization, "The Mito International Center" was opened in April, 1998, with the aims of achieving mutual understanding between a wide variety of cultures of the world, promoting international activities for the citizens of Mito, and expanding the internationalization of the city.
With the Mito International Center as our base, we, the citizens city of Mito, promote a variety of international exchanges by facilitating communications with cities overseas, giving lectures about other cultures, distributing relevant information to our citizens, helping support individuals and groups that have international activities, making foreign residents feel comfortable. We would like to continue these efforts and promote greater participation for all those who live and work in Mito.

We are looking for people who will be able to go to elementary schools as guest teachers.
